About
I'm an engineering manager at WeGoLook, a Crawford & Company subsidiary, where I lead a multi-functional team of frontend, backend, mobile, and cloud engineers. My path here wasn't exactly traditional — I started in customer support at Sweetwater Sound helping studio engineers troubleshoot complex networked audio systems, fell in love with technology, and never looked back.
After earning certifications in digital control systems and moving to Sweetwater's IT team, I enrolled at Full Sail University and got my BS in Web Design & Development. That kicked off a career in software engineering that's taken me from building Laravel apps and wrangling legacy WordPress codebases to leading frontend architecture across React, TypeScript, and Next.js. Frontend has always been my sweet spot, but I've been really enjoying going deeper into backend and cloud engineering lately.
These days I spend a lot of my time looking for ways to make my team's work more efficient. I've been digging deeply into how agentic engineering can augment engineering teams — I think it's one of the most interesting problems in our field right now. Our platform is in the middle of major migrations to React Native, Next.js, and Go, and I'm loving every bit of it.

Outside of Work
I live in West Michigan with my wife and two kids. I love the beach in the summer and the fall colors even more.
When I'm not writing code for work, I'm usually writing code for fun. I have a few side projects I tinker with — a budgeting app called Autobudget, a home maintenance system called Honeydew, and a small business toolkit called Workflow. I'm also deep into homelabbing, where I experiment with smart home tech, Plex, and security tooling.
I collect retro video games — my favorite is Pokemon Ruby, and I built a custom Gameboy Advance with USB-C charging and an IPS backlit screen. I also play bass and used to run a pop-punk cover band called Never Live This Down before moving back to Michigan in 2022. One of my favorite parts of the band was the technical side — building out backing tracks with clicks, extra instruments, and the ability to trigger lights in sync with the music.
